With only a partial fix to the state’s massive budget gap, Democrats plugged about $253 million of the $783 million shortfall by ending certain tax breaks and revenue shifts. They left roughly $530 million in unresolved cuts to Gov. Polis and the state’s reserves.

In short: one-third of the problem was patched, two-thirds punted, leaving taxpayers to wonder if real fiscal discipline will ever arrive in Denver.
